Getting ready for the next newsletter
Hi again, sorry for the delay in updating but we are now gearing up for the next newsletter and the 50th reunion. I hope you will attend next year. As we prepare the final draft the the next newsletter, I’m reminded of how fragile life is and how important friendship is to our health. I hope you are making new connections with old friends. This next newsletter includes comments from Gary Allen. Gary made a big effort to also get others to write for us. Bernie (Stone) Barrett is credited with keeping our database updated and also bugging people to write in. Thanks to people that contribute short notes as well as helping to continue the financing of our newsletter and website, we remain SAXONS, who care about each other.
Communications
We had about 15 e-mails that bounced when we sent the last newsletter. Be sure to let us know if you move or change your contact information. We also appreciate your help finding people on the “missing classmate” list. We are happy to communicate about mini-reunions. Just let us know!!

Mini Reunion in 2005
Mini-Reunions
This was the first attempt for our newsletter staff to host a mini-reunion. We decided to send out the word that we would meet at noon on Saturday of the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest. We had red & blue flowers, ribbons, signs, and a table ready for all classmates to join us. We waiting for an hour, then another hour, then another hour. As we determined no classmates would show, we proceeded in gathering people from the beer garten and made them honorary SAXONS. We took our picture with them, gave them Saxon ribbons, and cheered them on for being good sports. We know that many classmates have made efforts to get mini-reunions organized since then. The most successful have been the snowbirds that go to California and Arizona in the winter. If you have hosted a mini-reunion, let the newsletter staff know and we can post your successes on this website and in the next newsletter.
20 year reunion in 1983
I’m working on adding pictures from the 20th reunion. If you have pictures from any of the reunions, please send them to BHC
50th year reunion planning
2013 is our 50th reunion. If you want to help with the planning, please let one of the newsletter staff know. We don’t have a committee as yet, but there are people looking at a venue, cost, and dates. One suggestion was for the elementary feeder systems to have their own mini-reunions during the weekend of our 50th. Watch this website develop and ideas compiled for the reunion.
We will have more information in our spring newsletter 2012.
