Final Newsletter

We have just sent out our final Newsletter for the Class of 63.  Many things have changed.  We weren’t receiving any articles or pictures from classmates and the newsletter turned into a report on obituaries.  Health issues in my family have taking most of my free time collecting information.  Sharon Johnson Bradford has been so kind to format and get the newsletter out to you.  If you are willing to take over “webmaster” for the newsletter, let me know before June 2025, when we lose our website and our official SSHS63.com name.

Perhaps someone will come forward to organize a 65th reunion, or even a mini reunion in the area.  We have everyone’s e-mails, so we will continue to send out information as we receive it through e-mails only.

Don’t forget to let Denny Ward Duncan know you are interested in meeting with classmates for lunch once a month.  She sends out a reminder e-mail to those that request – and right now, it’s our only way to stay connected.  Much love to my mighty SAXONS       Barb Cross

Winter 2020 COR (1) 2019 Spring Newsletter Winter 2021COR 2022 Fall (2)Winter 2020 COR (1)Winter 2021COR2022 Fall (2)

What were you doing from March 2020 on?  Seems like life stopped forward motion.  2020 was a horrible year.  My family had an ice storm that took out the roof of Ron’s family home on Superior St, then covid hit, then medical issue with a family member, then another medical issue with another family member, then our family cabin, shop, casita, and another home burned down in the Beachie Creek Fire in September 2020.  2021 was getting through the turmoil of 2020.  We moved forward.  Isn’t that what we are required to do to maintain?

Now we are preparing for our 60th reunion.  That will be August 19, 2023 at Illahe.  If you don’t have the e-mail that gives the details, let me know.  At this moment we only have 60 people signed up.  The Class of 1962 had 112 participants.  We can do better!  We must do better!!!  You know why?  We need each other.  As I’m calling classmates, we have all been through a bunch these last few years.  You have lost loved ones, you are dealing with aging bodies – yours or your close friend or family member.  We need each other.  Those that reach out and renew friendships or make new friends with the common knowledge and experience we had at South Salem High School – will do better, live longer or at least be happier.

Our 2019 Winter Newsletter has just been sent electronically to classmates with e-mail accounts.  If  you are not getting the emails, check our folders as they may be getting kicked out by your settings on your computer.

We had three great opportunities to network this year.  Read about them in the latest newsletter.
