We have about 30 people attending the mini-reunion on September 10. Hope you are one of them.A few classmates asked for another get together because they enjoyed the 50th reunion. They requested a winery and classmate Gail Miller Jones was nice enough to offer her brother’s winery for the gathering.South Salem Class of 1963 – No Host Mini GatheringWednesday – September 10, 2014Stangeland Vineyards & Winery*

September Mini – Gathering
John Luchau 2013 50-year reunion adventure
We will be publishing a part of John’s sailing adventures in the next newsletter. If you would like to read the full story, we want to publish it here. We love that people are sharing stories and more articles for the newsletters. We may have enough for a fall newsletter issue as well.
Spring 2014 Newsletter
After a 7 month rest from the reunion, our little newsletter staff is about to publish the next newsletter. We had a great time at the reunion. Many hugs and a lot of friendships renewed. Send in your stories for the Fall newsletter. We need your stories and pictures. The first step in sending out the newsletter is to check e-mails and addresses (and remembering how to log on to our webpages). Happy Spring everyone!!
Biography and CD order form
To order a printed copy of the Biographies, fill out the order form and send to Sharon Johnson Bradford.
You can use the same order form to get a copy of the CD of the Saturday night reunion events. There is a cost of $5 IF YOU DID NOT SIGN UP TO ATTEND. If you did attend Saturday night, you will be receiving a copy in the mail at no cost to you. Those CD’s will be mailed sometime in September or October. We will update you when we have a more specific date.
Letting the Dust Settle
After such a fun filled weekend, and seeing many new and old friends, I hope you are getting rested, for some of you traveled a great distance. I reflect on the word travel, because we have all come to appreciate where we are, and how far we have come in these 50 years. We identified ourselfs in high school by the classes we took, the people we associated with, the goals and expectations of our parents and our peers. Thank goodness that definition has eroded over time.
If you have not read the biographies on the web, I hope you take time to do that. People have such interesting and diverse lives. If you hurry and submit your own biography by September 20, your biography will be included in a published version with over 100 other classmates. ORDER FORM BIOS CD
If you attended the Saturday night event and did not sign up for a CD of pictures taken by Megan Powell, let me know. Those CD’s will be printed soon and sent to you at no cost. If you did not attend the reunion but want a CD of the pictures from Saturday night, you can order a CD for $5. ORDER FORM BIOS CD

Participation strong for the 50th reunion
With the reunion on August 23 & 24, we are very excited at the registration numbers. We have 149 registered with 9 or 10 classmates saying they still are planning on attending. 80 classmates have sent in their biographies with 3 more in the edit stage. That’s very impressive. If you plan to play golf on Saturday with your classmates, make sure you are registered with Dan Hughes. There is a separate fee and limited spots.
By The Way, Congratulations to Joyce Brothers Kart on her recent marriage in Sweden on July 20, 2013.
See you all in a few weeks to renew and celebrate our Class of 1963.
Saxon Cars on display
A few people are bringing their cars to show in an informal car show on Saturday August 23 at the Creekside Golf Course. The event is not limited to classic cars. It’s just for fun. Maybe you have a new hybrid or a dune buggy you want to drive to the event. Check out the new web page under Biographies to see the current pictures of some of your classmate’s special cars.
Don’t forget to “drop down” under the Reunion Menu to see the Liberty Elementary School newsletter.
Early Registration Closed but don’t let that stop you!!
We currently have 128 people registered for the 50th reunion. WE WANT YOU……Please plan to attend. Don’t forget to send in your registration form and check for $75 per person to Vicki Andrews Sanders, your biographies to Sharon Johnson Bradford, and your golf registration to Dan Hughes (or along with your registration form). We have 52 biographies posted and more in the wings. You can add yours anytime, but by adding your biography now, people can recognize you:) and be able to communicate beyond what you said or did at South Hi in the 60’s.
